Gamay Noir is a little known varietal that is light bodied and low in tannins. The wine in our glass was indeed very light bodied, almost to the point to nonexistence in my estimation. JJ found a lot more enjoyment in the wine than I (SS) did with a fair amount of flavorful red fruit that just plain tasted good. When paired with our cheesy repast, the wine did wake up a bit, demonstrating more character while remaining rather neutral. |
